The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is born in a hot vintage much like the vintage that precedes it. Yet, 2012 and 2011 behave very differently and those subtle distinctions are evident here. This wine shows pretty intensity in terms of color and its rich aromatic offering. Yet, the wine is more streamlined and finessed in the mouth. The effect is elegant, albeit short in length. This Brunello is aged in large oak casks for three years.
